Center for Strategic Communication

The Center for Strategic Communications is an interdisciplinary think-tank in the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. The initiative collaborates across social sciences, engineering and humanities. Its goal is to advance strategic communication research for the public sector.

Our studies cover a wide range of topics. We have examined how extremists use story and narrative to promote ideology. We have also explored the role of human communication in diplomacy. The center brings together faculty from various disciplines to deepen our understanding of how communication influences peace, persuasion and conflict. In addition, we study its impact on health, crisis response and public safety.
